"Spender"

Spender. This handsome fella was offered to us right out of  Maple Winds keeper pen. We are very grateful to Maple Wind Caprines for giving us this boy! When I first saw Spender, I couldn't believe how big he was at only 6 months old lol. He was just a gorgeous buck!

His dam, was one of my first picks to get a new herd sire out of (though even that wasn't easy due to the fact that ALL of Maple Wind's goats are awesome in one way or another!). His sire is just as impressive!

Last year we went ahead and bred Spender to ALL of our girls, thataways he could really prove himself out. And boy howdy, did he ever. His kids all have his signature stamp. He made improvements. He made them long, tall, and they have his nice wide nostrils (something that only after dealing with a doe without nice "flaring" nostrils, did I realize how important that is). They're stronger in confirmation and surprisingly fast growers. In fact, his son by Cozy Creek Bambi, looks SO much like Spender. Even down to his sire's color. Consistent I will say! Next year, we'll hopefully get to see how Spender's doe kids will do in the milking parlor!

"Monty"

Monty, where do I start? He wasn't our initial pick, but when Laura at Maple Wind Caprines offered him to us, how could we refuse? Especially because our others plans for a herdsire hadn't worked out.

His dam is only one of Maple Wind's impressive goats. Laura told us she's got a very nice rump width! His sire has been throwing very beautiful kids, and very promising mammary systems!

His rump? Wow, has to be one of the most impressive rumps on a kid (a buck kid at that!) that I have seen. His dairyness? Wow! He has to be my most dairy buck in our buck pen. He's got that masculinity that makes him the perfect package. His confirmation? Strong and correct. Standing on some very nice hooves and legs. Yes, we are excited to use him this coming fall. We are wanting him to add a little bit more strength, DAIRY skin and rump width to our dairy herd. Can't wait to see what this boy can do!

"Sawdust"

This guy is hands down one of our MOST exciting buck kids born on our farm!  Just look at his level topline! His width, his strength! His overall body structure is strong/obvious strength, something we DO want in our DAIRY herd. Sorry, but frail dairy goats is something we are trying to steer clear of. But dont think he's all muscle and no dairy. My word, this guy has got those dairy wrinkles like nothing ive ever seen :)...(Believe me, we've just got to get him shaved down first ;). He is also the FIRST buck kid we have retained thus far for use in our breeding program, if that tells you anything. We REALLY werent going to keep him. But when we saw what he was hiding under all that hair, it didnt take much convincing to make room in our buck pen for him. His dam has one of the best attachments on our Nigerian herd, something we feel is very important. His sire is nothing to scoff at either. We really liked the type and consistency Dusty has stamped in his offspring thus far.  Combining his dam's genetics with his sire's, we feel he will be one to WATCH in the years to come!  He will be paired with some of our girls this fall!
